The Oriental Fantasy cultural tourism town – a resort combining travel, culture, commerce, entertainment and on-stage performances – launched its investment promotion on June 18 in Wanxiang town, in the Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai.

The town is the first of its kind in Lin-gang. It aims to showcase a fusion of traditional culture and modern technology, with the focus on China's 24 Solar Terms and the culture of its water towns.

It's partnered with SMG Live, the Hyatt Hotels Corporation and PANO Art & Tech to create immersive experiences for customers.

Using AI/VR/AR technology, Oriental Fantasy executives say it aims to bridge the gap between the virtual and physical economies – offering a unique blend of "culture + technology + aesthetics + inspiration."

In addition, the China Traditional Culture Practice and Innovation Research Base of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and the Asian Immersive Performing Arts Incubation Center of Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group were launched on the same day. They're settling into the new Oriental Fantasy complex.
