Lenze Drive Systems (Shanghai) Co Ltd, the second global headquarters of German engineering company Lenze, has been observing China's high-level opening up over the past decade.

The group specializes in industrial automation and has been based in the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone for nearly 17 years.

As one of the pioneering foreign-funded enterprises in Lin-gang, Lenze Drive Systems (Shanghai) Co Ltd has a substantial clientele comprising leading domestic and international robotics and new energy battery companies.

The company has transformed from a production site into the group's second global headquarters, in addition to its main headquarters in Germany.

At the sixth China International Import Expo, the company signed on-site contracts worth 20 million yuan ($2.82 million) and established invaluable connections with potential customers in central and western cities across China.

Over the past 17 years since its establishment in Lin-gang, Lenze has gradually transitioned from being "in China for China" to "in China for the world."

Xie said that this transition has been driven by China's unwavering commitment to high-level openness, with a particular focus on system-based opening to the outside world.
